Volleyball Days
The City of Katowice, cooperating with PZPS and GKS Katowice S.A., is going to carry out an action called „Volleyball Days” at the town square between 20th and 22nd August 2017. Everyone will be able to compete with GKS Katowice players on two volleyball


The City of Katowice, cooperating with PZPS and GKS Katowice S.A., is going to carry out an action called „Volleyball Days” at the town square between 20th and 22nd August 2017. Everyone will be able to compete with GKS Katowice players on two volleyball courts specially set up on the square. Also, there will be a unique occasion to take a photo with the European Championship Trophy on Sunday, 20th. Apart from that, you may also check the velocity of your serve, compare your height with professional volleyball players and take part in numerous contests including amazing prizes!

VOLLEYBALL DAYS’ SCHEDULE

20th August

12:00 — the opening of Volleyball Days; unveiling of the great ball, champions’ trophy and a press-wall

12:15 - 16:00 — the opening of both courts and animation led by GKS Katowice volleyball players

21st August

12:00-18:00 — training/animation led with GKS Katowice players (PlusLiga and II League teams)

22nd August

12:00 - 18:00 — training/animation led with GKS Katowice players

Every-day attractions:

Two separate volleyball courts (size: 9x18m) for the use of Katowice residents during the Volleyball Days. The courts will be made of astroturf and participants will be able to take part in the animations prepared by GKS Katowice players;

Organizing a competition for the city residents, which includes the use of professional equipment (to measure the velocity of a launched ball). The residents will have to face professional players and try to beat them;

Checking target serving abilities of youths and adults. There will be prizes for successful hits i.e. for the highest scoring;

Obstacle courses adapted for children of different age groups. Flicking up the ball, hitting the target, running to flick up the ball and many others;

Life-size (1:1) cardboard cutouts of Piotr Gruszka, Karol Butryna and Adrian Stańczyk for participants to compare their height with the above-mentioned players;

Throwing inflatable beach balls to create the „rain of balls”

Moonbounces, animators, colouring books, balloons and plenty of other attractions for the youngest participants
