Regulations and documents required to obtain or exchange a driving licence are identical for Polish and foreign citizens. The additional requirement for foreigners is submission of a Residence Card, a visa or another document confirming the right to stay in the territory of RP, or a certificate confirming that a person has been studying in Poland for at least 6 months.
The holder of a foreign driving licence issued by one of the contracting countries to The Convention on Road Traffic can drive vehicles in Republic of Poland up to 6 months since the arrival in Poland.  After that period a foreigner should exchange his/her driving licence.

Documents required to exchange a foreign driving licence:
–    a completed application form
–    proof of paying the fee
–    one photograph, dimentions 3.5 x 4.5 cm, without any headgear or dark glasses, showing a left semi-profile with the left ear visible; the face should be evenly illuminated
–    photocopy of drivier's licence
–    certified translation of driver's licence issued by a sworn translator (in case of driver's licences issued in accordance with EU regulations, the translation is not required)
–    photocopy of a Residence Card, a visa or another document confirming the right to stay in the territory of Poland, or a certificate confirming that a person has been studying in Poland for at least 6 months.
–    foreign applicant should present an ID card
–    medical/ psychological certificate on lack of medical contraindications to drive (if the foreign driving licence was issued for a specified period whose validity expired)

–    after passing the exam, the proof of payment required to issue a driving licence
–    in case of minors – a written consent of a parent or legal guardian
